Primary care providers (with all due respect to the people that practice responsibly), have no limit or regard for the prescribing of opiates. They start patients in massive doses of opiates and any opiate. When the situation is out of control, refer the patient to a pain medicine clinic. Those patients are very addicted and very difficult to treat. Please, you should address this practice. Well trained pain medicine doctors use opiates in a very responsible manner.
